Shotton Manufacturing’s Engineering department sets itself apart from any other sheet metal manufacturer in Australia. Our high calibre engineering design house has developed a diverse skillset serving all divisions within Shotton Group and external customers. The engineering team work on designing and continuously improving our products from elevators and associated equipment, bespoke specialised mortuary equipment and infrastructure projects, and materials handling equipment. Typical projects for external customers include development and manufacture of elevated work platforms for the rail industry and various projects for the correctional services industry including heated meal and general-purpose trolleys and high security doors. We have also been involved in numerous exciting top-secret projects.

Apart from having a very capable engineering division, a key strength is that projects are managed, designed, prototyped, productionised and produced all under the one roof. This results in better quality control, significantly faster project turn around with what is generally a lower cost part due to a focus on designing for manufacture.

All the benefits combined generally lead to a lower development and part cost. This is unlike other design houses that have limited or no manufacturing or assembly capabilities which leads to delays and unexpected cost blow outs.
